The lorica of this species consists of both a dorsal and a ventral plate, compressed in the dorsoventral direction. These plates are firmly joined at the edges, forming an anterior opening for the head protrusion and a posterior opening for the foot projection. The foot is well-developed, typically comprising 3-4 segments, with two moderately long toes. The body length ranges from 60 to 180 µm, and this species is typically found in littoral as well as freshwater habitats.
