Description:
The shell is greatly elongated and ovate in shape, appearing dark blackish-brown with flat umbones. The anterior side is angled above and gently rounded below, while the posterior margin is obtusely rounded. The antero-dorsal margin slopes gently, and the postero-dorsal margin slopes more rapidly in a slight curve. Anterior scars are ovate and moderately impressed, while posterior scars are roughly triangular and not well impressed. The interior of the shell transitions from a plate brown to bluish, nacreous color, showing shallow radiate furrows, especially in the anterior ventral region.
Habitat & Distribution in Bangladesh:
Found in rivers, hors, boel and streams. They are more abundant near the bank and bottom of the river. Abundant in Brahmanbaria, Habigany, Maukstar and Sythet Destricts.
