Description:
The shell is substantial, measuring more than 100mm, and has an elongate-ovate shape with moderate thickness and inflation. The surface displays low, concentric ridges. The anterior umbones are not prominently raised, and the dorsal margin is nearly straight. The ventral margin is somewhat arched, with a short and broad anterior end, while the posterior end is rostrate and marked by a well-defined post-dorsal wing. On average, the adult shell has a length of 106.00 ± 19.80 mm and a width of 53.05 ± 12.02 mm.
Habitat & Distribution in Bangladesh:
Found in aquatic habitat viz. lakes, rivers and streams. They are more abundant near the bank and bottom of the Beel and river. Abundant in Habiganj, Maulvibazar and Sylhet districts.
