Description:
The shell is sturdy, oblong-ovate in shape, with a rounded anterior and a posterior that is obliquely subrostrate. The dorsal margin is straight, while the ventral margin is arcuate, and the posterior wing is narrow in adults. On average, the adult shell measures around 79.2 ± 20.74 mm in length and 43.66 ± 12.34 mm in width.
Habitat & Distribution in Bangladesh:
Found in aquatic habitat viz. ponds, lakes, rivers and streams. They are more abundant near the bank and bottom of the river. Abundant in Brahmanbaria and Habiganj, Maulvibazar and Sylhet District.
