Description:
The shell is less broad and elongated-elliptical in shape, with slightly inflated umbones. The periostracum is smooth, and the dorsal margin is nearly straight and lengthy. Each valve has two cardinals. The color of the shell is uniformly darker, and the periostracum is dark brown. On average, the valve measures 70 mm in length, 32 mm in height, and 22 mm in thickness.
Habitat & Distribution in Bangladesh:
Found in rivers, lakes and streams, more abundantly near the bank and bottom of the river. It lives nearly buried in sand or sandy mud at the bottom, with only the posterior tips of their shell valves exposed with the valves slightly spread and the two siphons exposed. Distributed in rivers, lakes and canals of Bangladesh.
