Description:
Shape of body elongate and slender. Snout is thick projecting beyond jaws, a few pores on snout. Lower lip fimbriated. Color of body is silvery, darkest superiorly. Fins orange. A dark spot usually present near base of caudal fin.
Habitat & Distribution in Bangladesh:
Inhabits upper reaches of rivers. A popular species for stocking ponds.
