Description:
The body is elongated with a narrow waist. The head is broader than it is long, with a pointed snout that extends beyond the mandible when viewed from both the top and the side. The pupil is circular, and the tympanum is distinct with a supratympanic fold. The dorsum is granular with glandular skin, while the abdomen and inner sides of the thighs are coarsely granular. A deep, inverted “V”-shaped mark starts from above the tip of the snout and ends above the vent. The limbs display dark bars and blotches, and the venter is yellowish-cream. The fingers have no webbing, and the toes are webbed only at the base.
Habitat & Distribution in Bangladesh:
It inhabits forest floors, freshwater wetlands, ponds, paddy fields, ditches, canals etc. It is distributed widely in the Northwest region of Bangladesh.
