In male damselflies, the wing spot is either pale yellow or colorless, while the eyes are orange above and olivaceous below. Females, on the other hand, have a wing spot that is black on the inner half and blue on the outer half for the forewings; the hindwings are pale blue or colorless. Their eyes are black above and pale bluish-green in the lower half. The male is a small damselfly with a pale bluish-green hue, featuring black thoracic stripes and a tail tipped with blue. In contrast, the female is more robust and has an olivaceous thorax. These damselflies are typically found in marshes situated in hilly areas.
