Description:
Heteroncocleidus buschkieli is an elongated, cylindrical worm with four granulated eyespots and a pharynx in the head region. The head organ is well-defined. It has three median anchors, one of which is less developed. There are two almost identical, relatively thin connecting bars. Six pairs of marginal hooklets are present. The copulatory complex includes a copulatory tube with a small sac and an accessory piece.
Habitat & Distribution in Bangladesh:
It is an obligate parasite in freshwater fishes, infesting in the gill filaments of its host. It is distributed throughout Bangladesh.
