Description:
The body of Herpobdelloidea lateroculata is very slender and pale buff in color. Larger individuals can reach about 30 mm in length and 3 mm in width. They have five or six pairs of eyes, with the first pair larger and located dorsally on the IV somite, while the others are submarginal on somites V-VIII. The mouth lacks jaws, and the pharynx is long without a gastric region.
