Description:
The Herpobdelloidea lateroculata has a slender body with a pale buff coloration. It typically has five or six pairs of eyes, with the first pair being larger and located dorsally on the IV somite. The remaining pairs are situated submarginally on somites V-VIII. Interestingly, it lacks jaws in its mouth and has a long pharynx without gastric glands.
