Description:
It is an elongated fluke with a bilobed head, featuring five pairs of head organs and two pairs of eyespots. Thick cephalic glands are present in the head region. The pharynx is rounded, and pharyngeal glands are located on both lateral sides of the pharynx. There are two simple, non-confluent intestinal crura that extend slightly anterior to the haptoral region. The testis is elongated, post-ovarian, and intercaecal, situated in the posterior region of the body. The ovary is oval, pretesticular, and median to submedian, with numerous pear-shaped reproductive glands occupying its lateral area.
Habitat & Distribution in Bangladesh:
The species is an obligate parasite in freshwater catfish, maturing in the gill filaments of its host. It is distributed throughout Bangladesh.
