Description:
The body is moderately elongated, cylindrical in the anterior section and compressed towards the tail. It is distinguished by its depth at the gill opening. Dorsal fin originates slightly before the gill opening and the anus is positioned at the rear or close to the midpoint of the body. The eyes are small and the teeth are exceptionally sharp. The body is adorned in a black hue with speckles of orange and white. The vertebral count ranges from 120 to 130.
Habitat & Distribution in Bangladesh:
Occurs in estuaries and river mouths.

Freshwater, Brackish (Demersal; anadromous)
