Description:
It is a low-growing annual herb. The leaves are arranged in pseudo-whorls of 3-6 or opposite; they are spoon-shaped or elliptic with a tapered base and a blunt or pointed tip, with sparse teeth along the margins. The flowers have stalks and are greenish-white. The fruit is a capsule that splits open when ripe, shaped like an ellipse and reddish-brown with distinct granules. It produces numerous kidney-shaped seeds.
Habitat & Distribution in Bangladesh:
It grows in moist fallow lands, cultivated fields, and walls. This plant is commonly found throughout Bangladesh.
