Description:
Dorsal spines (total): 1; Dorsal soft rays (total): 6. Head and body color is silvery. Without caudal fin, other fins are black distally with clear basal portions. Caudal fin is entirely clear. Anal fin with 5-6 simple rays, 11 branched rays. Premaxilla with 4 rows of teeth. Body is laterally compressed.
Habitat & Distribution in Bangladesh:
Occurs in rivers, canals, beels and inundated fields throughout Bangladesh.
