Description:
The shell of this species is globular-conical and comprises 4.5 whorls, which increase rapidly. The shell is yellowish, corneous, and translucent, with a finely striated surface. The body whorl is prominent, and the aperture is slightly angled at the top, while the umbilicus is closed. The operculum also displays a slight angle. The dimensions of the shell include a height of 3.5–4.5 mm and a width of 3.5 mm. In terms of the animal’s features, it has a greyish snout and tentacles with a white border, speckled with small dark spots.
Habitat & Distribution in Bangladesh:
Occurs in pond, Canal and River. It’s generally found along the shores on the sandy and muddy bottom (bed) of the rivers. Abundant in Brahmonbaria, Comilla, Dhaka, Habiganj, Mymensingh, and Sylhet District.
