Description:
The body color is highly variable, usually ranging from rusty brown to brownish grey, with a warty texture above and darker blotches on the back. The limbs often have cross bars. The skin on the back may have some longitudinal folds and warts. A light yellowish or cream-colored mid-dorsal streak is often present, extending from the tip of the snout to the anus, though it can sometimes be absent, discontinuous, or start from the midbody. The snout is pointed, and the nostril is closer to the tip of the snout than to the eye. Males are smaller than females.
Habitat & Distribution in Bangladesh:
It inhabits various freshwater bodies, such as ponds, ditches, paddy fields, canals etc.It is widely distributed throughout Bangladesh.
