Description:
Females are larger than males. The back skin is generally smooth, and any folds become apparent when the skin is dry. Eyes are positioned towards the top of the head, with a clearly visible eardrum. Toes are fully webbed, similar to ducks. The external vocal sacs are bluish and can be seen on either side of the throat when males call. The coloration is dark olive-brown or blackish with green patches, while the underside is white. A white band runs along the sides and the rear surface of the thighs.
Habitat & Distribution in Bangladesh:
It inhabits various freshwater bodies, such as ponds, ditches, paddy fields, canals etc.This species is widely distributed throughout Bangladesh.
