Description:
The fish has a moderately elongate body that is flattened ventrally. Its head is pointed anteriorly, featuring a small mouth and four pairs of barbels. The dorsal spine is distinctly serrated, while the pectoral spine has 9-12 divergent serrae on its anterior edge. The body coloration is yellowish-brown above and lighter below. The barbels are annulated with black, and the fins have dusky bands. The skin is rough and covered with round bony tubercles.Fin formula: D. I/5; P1. I/5; P2. 6; A. 8; C. 14-16
Habitat & Distribution in Bangladesh:
Occurs mainly in hill streams. Found in muddy parts of rivers overgrown with vegetation.
