This snake is easily recognizable by the presence of two pale stripes that extend along the entire length of its body and tail, converging on the crown. Its body typically exhibits a medium brown to greenish-brown coloration, while the head and neck tend to be more olive-colored compared to the body. The belly is pale, with a slender brown line running along the center. It has a relatively narrow and flattened head with a blunt and squarish snout.
Habitat & Distribution in Bangladesh:
It inhabits a range of stagnant and slow-moving aquatic environments, including paddy fields, canals, ditches, lakes, and rivers. This species can be found throughout Bangladesh.
