Description:
The insect has a dorsal body coloration of ochraceous or ochraceous brown, with the lateral and basal margins of the pronotum and the embolium consistently appearing paler. The body is dorsoventrally depressed, and the head is shorter than its breadth. The eyes are obliquely converging, with a very long interocular space, exceeding the length of the head. The rostrum, or mouthpart, is short and comprised of three joints. The pronotum, scutellum, and corium are densely covered in fine punctuations. The legs are adapted for swimming (natatorial), with anterior coxae inserted between the anterior area of the prosternum. The tarsi have two joints, and the claws are short, with fore tarsi having two claws each.
Habitat & Distribution in Bangladesh:
This species prefers shallow water ponds,swamp or beels with or without aquatic vegetation. Sometimes they are found attached with the floating aquatic weeds. Found in Dhaka city
