Classification:
Kingdom: Animalia
Phylum: Arthropoda
Class: Insecta
Order: Coleoptera
Family: Gyrinidae
Description:
The male of this species typically measures between 6.4 to 8.0 millimeters in size, with an oval body shape. Its flagellomere VI exhibits a lightly colored apex, while the elytral apices are somewhat serrated, featuring parasutural and epipleural spines. The lateral margins of the pronotum and elytron are often orange or yellow. Additionally, the protrochanter bears a few setae on the ventral surface apically. Notably, the profemur lacks a sub-apicoventral tooth, and the protibia is wedge-shaped. On the ventral side, the coloration ranges from yellow to brown, with yellow epipleura. In terms of the reproductive anatomy, the aedeagus presents a median lobe that is shorter than the parameres, being parallel-sided for about two-thirds of its length. It slightly narrows in the apical half and tapers to an acuminate tip in the final fifth, which is narrowly rounded. From a lateral perspective, the aedeagus appears weakly straight. In females, the characteristics are similar to males, except for size, which typically ranges from 6.9 to 8.1 millimeters. Additionally, the gonocoxae are elongated, with rounded lateral margins and weakly rounded apices.
