It has a transparent body protected by a translucent carapace. Its head features two antennae and a sizable compound eye. Rows of spikes run along the back of the carapace. It possesses a ventral opening and five pairs of thoracic limbs. Reproduction occurs through parthenogenesis.

Commonly found in the rivers, lakes, haors, and other fresh waterbodies of Bangladesh.
