Description:
The creature’s body typically ranges from 1 to 5 millimeters in length and is segmented. It is transparent, with compound eyes. The fused head is bent downward toward the body, featuring a noticeable notch. Surrounding the body is an uncalcified shell called the carapace, which contains two walls through which hemolymph flows. Additionally, it possesses two abdominal setae and reproduces through parthenogenesis.
Habitat & Distribution in Bangladesh:
Commonly found in the rivers, lakes, haors, and other fresh waterbodies of Bangladesh.
