Description:
This fish has a long, flattened body (laterally compressed) with a belly that curves more prominently than its back. Its mouth is positioned diagonally on the underside of its head. It has four barbels near its nose, two on each side. The tail fin (caudal fin) is slightly notched. It has a complete lateral line, a sensory line that runs along its side, with a slight dip. This line is made up of 36 to 40 scales, with a count of 38 specifically on the line itself. The back of the fish is olive green, while the sides and belly are silvery with several blue stripes.
Habitat & Distribution in Bangladesh:
Occurs in hill-streams.
