Description:
It is generally large or medium-sized. It has four eyespots. A distinctive feature of its gut is the presence of a slightly developed esophagus and a posterior blind process where the intestinal crura converge. The marginal hooks lack a distinctly demarcated border between the handle and its pivot and have a slightly projecting “heel” or hooklet. There are two bars present, including a dorsal bar with an anterior process in the middle and an extended end. The copulatory complex includes a tube and may feature an accessory piece.
Habitat & Distribution in Bangladesh:
It is specialized to its host and is an obligate parasite of carp fishes. It is distributed throughout Bangladesh.
