The body of Dactylogyrus lampam is small and elongated. It has well-developed anchors with a small outer root and a recurved point. The dorsal bar is basin-shaped, while the ventral bar is V-shaped. The marginal hooks have a slight separation between the handle and the pivot.
Habitat & Distribution in Bangladesh:
It is an obligate parasite of carp fish, reaching sexual maturity within the gill filaments of its host. It is commonly found in freshwater fishes of Bangladesh.
