Description:
Dactylogyrus labei is a small fluke without eyes. The intestinal crura merge behind the testis. The marginal hooks have a projecting “heel” on the hooklet, and the handle is slightly separated from its pivot. The anchors have well-developed roots, and there is one dorsal and one ventral bar.
Habitat & Distribution in Bangladesh:
The parasite is an obligate parasite of cyprinid fishes. It is distributed in Bangladesh as a freshwater gill parasite of cyprinid fishes.
