The body of these worms is moderate to large in size. They have two pairs of eyespots, with the anterior pair located in front of the rounded pharynx, and the posterior pair near the front part of the pharynx. The hooks (7 pairs) are relatively small compared to the anchors, with well-developed widened handles and protruding tongue-shaped “heels” of the hooklets. The anchors are of the anchoratoid type, large but thin, with a long inner curved root and a barely protruding outer root.
