Dactylogyrus glossogobii is a large to moderate-sized fluke that is dorsoventrally flattened with a smooth cuticle. The anterior region is narrower than the posterior region. The head has three pairs of head organs and two pairs of eyespots. The posterior eyespots are larger, containing more melanistic granules and located on the anterior margin of a well-developed pharynx. The marginal hooks clearly delineate the boundary between the handle and its pivot. The anchors are of the “wounderoid” type, with a well-developed inner root and a recurved point, and each anchor has one pair of filaments.
