Description:
It is a rhizomatous herb, found both in aquatic and terrestrial habitats, sometimes submerged or growing in marshy areas. The leaves have petioles and linear-lanceolate blades with an acute or acuminate apex and a cuneate base, with entire or slightly undulated margins. Its inflorescence consists of a pedunculate spadix with a spathe limb that is open and somewhat spreading at the base, tightly spiral, and marked with brown to purple coloration, with cilia along the margin.

This plant is typically found in shallow sandy areas near streams, ditches, canals, beels, and haors, and is widely distributed throughout Bangladesh.
