Description:
Adult Male: The hypopygium of the male features a broader superior volsella, with three long setae at the apex. The inferior volsella is stout and completely covered by the superior volsella, also bearing three long setae. Pupa: The abdomen of the pupa exhibits distinct reticulation on abdominal segments T I–VI, with faint reticulation on segments T VII–VIII. The anal lobe is adorned with 117–146 filaments. Larva: The head capsule of the larva measures approximately 492–531 μm in length, with an antennal ratio (AR) ranging from 0.80 to 1.05.
Habitat & Distribution in Bangladesh:
All species dwell in the upper part of the water body, seldom being found on hard substrata near the bottom. They prefer sandy substrata with some detritus and fine organic material.

Comments:
They are semi aquatic. Larvae are hatched in water. But they fly away when they got matured.
