Description:
Single-celled and exhibiting a blue-green hue, these organisms take on ovoid or rod-shaped forms with a diameter spanning from 0.4 to 40 µm. Typically, they are discovered in colonies comprising two, four, or eight cells. These cells possess a clear protective sheath containing photosynthetic pigments.
Habitat & Distribution in Bangladesh:
Their natural habitat traditionally includes freshwater environments, although they have also been observed in water sources with elevated salinity levels.
