Description:
Centropyxis is a type of testate amoeba characterized by a discoid, flattened shell, resembling a beret in shape. The dorsal surface is rounded, while the ventral side ranges from flat to concave and contains a ventral aperture, which can vary from circular to irregular, often displaced towards one end. Additionally, the shell may exhibit flattening at the apertural end.

Commonly found in the rivers of Bangladesh.
