Description:
The lancelet Branchiostoma lanceolatum possesses a spindle-shaped body that tapers to a point at both ends. It is segmented and flattened dorsoventrally, featuring a membranous fin along its dorsal side. At the tail end, there is a lance-shaped fin. This species can reach lengths of up to 8 cm and typically has a semi-transparent pink hue.
