Brachionus calyciflorus is identifiable by its unique morphology, setting it apart from other species of rotifers. Its body is elongated and cylindrical, typically measuring between 160 to 350 μm in length and 80 to 160 μm in width. At the head region, there is a retractable structure housing a distinctive ring of cilia known as the corona, which serves both feeding and locomotion purposes. This corona consists of two types of cilia: larger frontal cilia and smaller ventral cilia.
