Description:
The body typically consists of 24 to 44 regular segments followed by a few undifferentiated posterior segments. The moderately stout prostomium is semicircular and brownish in color, containing oil droplets and coelomocytes, with no eyes present. Hair setae are completely absent. The prongs of setae form a wide angle, with the distal prong longer and the proximal prong thicker. Pineal setae are absent. Ventral setae also start in segment II, with 5-7 per bundle in the anterior part of the body and 2-4 regularly in the posterior part. Ventral setae are absent in the segment of the male pore. Coelomocytes are present. The anterior part of the alimentary canal, such as the pharynx and esophagus, is prominent.
