Description:
The species exhibits a dark blotch on the exposed cleithrum, but lacks a dark blotch dorsolaterally on the caudal peduncle. There is no black blotch anteriorly on the dorsal fin, nor intense black narrow vertical bars on the sides in males. It has 28-29 vertebrae and a lateral scale row of 27-29. The dorsal fin count is D XVI-XVIII.8½-10. The interorbital space is narrow, measuring 4.6-6.3% of the standard length. There are 6 scales between the anal fin and upper lateral line, and 15-17 circumpeduncular scale rows.
Habitat & Distribution in Bangladesh:
Occurs in small hill streams of the Karnafuli and Sangu rivers and downstream.
