Description:
The shell is broadly oval-shaped and flattened, adorned with plates of various sizes. Some plates are large and scattered, while others are small and fill the gaps between the larger ones. Sand grains are frequently found at the bottom of the shell. Typically, the coloration ranges from dark violet to steel blue. These organisms inhabit environments such as Sphagnum moss and aquatic vegetation. They measure between 135 and 180 µm in length.
