Description:
In males, the abdomen measures 16-17mm, and the hindwing measures 9.5-10mm. Females have an abdomen length of 18mm, and their hindwing measures 11-12mm. Male dragonflies have black eyes above and pale apple green below. The thorax is black above with pale apple green stripes on the sides, which fade to yellow below. There is a small black spot on the upper side of the posterior lateral side. Their legs are yellow, with the outer surface of the femora being black. Wings are transparent, with pale yellow spots in the forewings and black spots in the hindwings. The abdomen is broadly black above, with segments 1-6 exhibiting a pale apple green color, and the terminal segments appearing brick red. Females display a range of color variations, some resembling males. In the red form, the head, thorax, and abdomen are dark brick red, with the thorax featuring a broad, dorsal black band.
Habitat & Distribution in Bangladesh:
Common in marshes, ponds, and sea shore. Darts among vegetation and flies very close to the ground.

They are semi aquatic. Larvae are hatched in water. But they fly away when they got matured.
