Description:
Clusters of cells, organized in either two or three dimensions, form colonies of a consistent cell count. The individual cell bodies exhibit a cylindrical or elongated spindle-like shape and maintain a radial arrangement by attaching at one end to each other. These cells feature one or multiple plate-shaped chloroplasts, each containing a pyrenoid. Asexual reproduction occurs through autocoenobium.
