Description:
This small worm has two pairs of eyespots. The intestinal crura merge behind the testis. It has medium-sized anchors with smaller outer roots but well-developed processes and a short curved point. There are two bars positioned one over the other. The ventral bar is not thick, bracket-shaped, with free ends turning forward. The dorsal bar is double, with both halves forming a V shape, curving toward the ventral side.
Habitat & Distribution in Bangladesh:
The species is an obligate parasite of barbs, infesting the gill filaments where it reaches sexual maturity. It is commonly found in freshwater fish in Bangladesh.
