Description:
The parasite is small to moderate in size. It lacks eyespots, but separate pigment granules are present, dispersed in the anterior part of the body. The dorsal anchors have a finger-like articulated knob on the inner margin of the base and a long curved patch. Ventral anchors lack a well-developed root. The dorsal bar is wide in the middle, and there are seven pairs of marginal hooklets, with one pair being the longest.
Habitat & Distribution in Bangladesh:
It is an obligate parasite that matures on the gill filaments of freshwater catfish. It is commonly found in freshwater environment in Bangladesh.
