Description:
Bar-headed Geese have a gray body with striking orange legs and a black-and-white neck. Their name comes from the distinctive black U-shaped bars on the back of their white head. They measure between 68 and 78 cm (27 to 30 inches) in length, have a wingspan of 140 to 160 cm (55 to 62 inches), and weigh between 2 and 3 kg (4.5 to 6.5 lbs). These geese have a basal metabolic rate of 756 cubic centimeters of oxygen per hour.
