Description:
The Gull-billed Tern is a medium-sized, stocky tern with broad, pale gray wings that have black tips. It features a stout black bill, a short notched tail, a white body, and black legs. During the breeding season, it has a black cap, while in winter, its head is nearly white with a dark smudge behind the eyes. Juveniles look similar to winter adults.
