Description:
The fish has a deep body with 35 to 38 scales along its side. Both the dorsal and anal fins (the unpaired fins) have at least 15 rays. Its backbone is made up of many bones. It has a mark on its shoulder that goes straight up and down, and another stripe (the P stripe) that runs all the way to the split end of its tail fin.
Habitat & Distribution in Bangladesh:
Found in a variety of habitats from boulder-strewn mountain torrents to small pools in dry zone streams. Most common in flowing water.
