Description:
The fish has an elevated body that is moderately compressed. It features large eyes and a small, slightly oblique terminal mouth without barbels. The upper jaw is slightly longer. The last unbranched ray of the dorsal fin is strong, bony, and serrated. The pelvic fins originate below the dorsal fin and are as long as the head, excluding the snout.

Inhabits in the lower reaches of rivers.
