Description:
The fins are dark grey or black, with the dorsal fin having 6 branched rays. Gill rakers are well-developed. Young individuals display a black stripe along the lateral line and a second long black stripe below it, while large adults are uniformly grey. There is a dark stripe in the middle of the anal fin and another in each caudal lobe. Small gill rakers are evenly distributed among larger ones.

Occurs in large rivers.

Comments:
It is an exotic fish in Bangladesh. It hasbeen brought from Thailand (1990) for aquacultural purposes.
