Description:
It has elongated and cylindrical body. Light brown color in the backside, silvery color on flanks, white beneath. 9-10 on irregular brown blotches occur along lateral line. Minute dark brown specks on upper half of body. A black streak from eye to snout. A deep black spot at upper base of caudal. Another at middle of outer margin of caudal ray.
Habitat & Distribution in Bangladesh:
Inhabits clear, swift streams with sandy bottom. Also occur in slow-flowing streams and oxbows.
