Description:
Fin formula: D. 2/7; P1. 2/8; P2. 1/5; A 2/5. It has a long, rounded body that’s slightly flattened on the sides. Its head is relatively small with big eyes located just below the skin surface. Snout comes to a point, and the fin on its back is positioned much closer to its tail than to its head. The mouth is on the underside and shaped like a horseshoe. There’s a thick fold of skin in front of its upper lip that looks like another lip. The caudal fin has a shallow notch in the middle.
Habitat & Distribution in Bangladesh:
Live in clear flowing water streams with sandy to rocky bottom.
